The University of Advancing Technology (UAT) is a unique private college dedicated to advancing technology both in practice and in theory. We serve our student body by fostering knowledge creation and academic excellence in an environment that embraces the richness and diversity of modern technology. We teach students how technology has shaped the world so that they may be part of its evolution. While many colleges that offer a technology education approach their students with visions of high salaries and professional certification as enrollment incentives, we maintain that a well-educated graduate may create whatever future they wish on their own merit. The beginning of the 21st century is an exciting time to be in the technology community. Current subjects of ongoing research and scholarship at UAT include network security, artificial life, game design and development, and other areas of advanced technology.

Since the college launched operations at its campus in Tempe, Arizona-a community at the heart of the Phoenix metropolitan area known as the Valley of the Sun-we've devoted all of our resources to creating a hybrid academic environment where students are challenged to achieve, explore new and traditional concepts, and practice what they learn in real-world situations. This combination of research, scholarship and application creates technically adept graduates who are equally at home in academia and the working world, and valued by both.

UAT graduates will thrive in the digital age. Our students benefit from their fundamental understanding of both theoretical and applied aspects of technology. We believe it to be a certainty that UAT graduates will meet and surpass every expectation of high-technology employers. Our graduates enter the professional world with accredited associate's and bachelor's degrees, and many return to pursue a master's degree at our Graduate College of Applied Technology.

History

UAT evolved from a CAD training school responding to the high technology needs of the early 1980s into a nationally accredited and internationally recognized college that offers associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees to students of the 21st century. Accreditation

UAT is accredited by ACICS (the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools). ACICS is a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. The proof of our educational quality comes from evaluations of academic peers through accreditation.

Year-Round Balanced Learning

UAT's educational approach and philosophy blends educational "global best practices" with original research and development to create a distinctive learning model called Year-Round Balanced Learning (YRBL). YRBL is the foundation of the entire academic experience at UAT. Students and faculty are all trained in this learning philosophy, and coursework is designed around YRBL concepts.

Our facilities were designed with the focus of Year-Round Balanced Learning in mind, by providing special areas around the campus to give students time to work independently, collaborate on teams or receive guidance from their teachers in lecture or tutorial sessions.
